Video Conferencing
Keeping pace with the latest technology, the Center's Classroom is
equipped with video-conference equipment that dramatically improves the
sending and receiving of educational services between distant sites. We
use a Tandberg 6000 codec that connect/transmit at 384 Kbps. We have four
main delivery mechanisms of data that can be used: computer, document,
camera, and voice. We also have three ways of transmitting data: ISDN,
H.323, and fiber.
Through the Ford Career Center, The EDS FTTC assist undergraduate and
graduate students in the McCombs School of Business with video conference
access for job and internship interviews. With this capability we can
offer an alternative to in-person interviews while allowing company
representatives to save time on out-of-town traveling. This also allows
them to stay in their offices and still have the personal contact with
students. For more information about job and internship video conferences,
please contact Sunshine Black in the Ford Career Center at 232-3790.
