Center's Educational Uses
- Department of Finance Courses:
Undergraduate and graduate students taking investment classes use the Center's
classroom to access financial information and explore
financial models for analyzing market information.
- Information Impact
Management Classes: The Department of Management
Science and Information Systems (MSIS) has an MBA concentration on information impact
management in finance and students taking courses in that concentration use the
financial data feeds and models available in the
Center's classroom.
- MBA Investment Fund, L.L.C.: MBA students in
the UT Graduate School of Business analyze investments and manage their portfolio in the
Center's Trading Room.
- Innovative Classroom Pedagogy: Through its technologically-sophisticated
classroom, faculty can adapt their
pedagogy to the latest educational tools including an interactive touch screen blackboard
(SMART Board), an Elmo document camera, and a high-resolution video projector. The Video Guide for Educators provides a description for the video
technology available in the Center.
- Distance
Learning:The Center can originate and
receive long distance learning through its video conferencing capability and its access to
satellite up and downlinks.
- Executive Education: The Executive
Education Program in the College and Graduate School of Business uses the Center's
classroom for special executive training programs on
campus and broadcasted to remote locations. The Center's sponsors
are able to use the Center's facilities when university classes are not session (weekends
and summers) to bring their executives up to date on the latest technology.
- K-12
Education :The Center serves as a resource for the
University of Texas in the
application of educational technology as well as assisting the University's Institute for
Technology and Learning (ITAL). It also serves as a technical lab
for the Business Leadership Program and the Accounting Career Awareness
Camp in the area of business education.
