The EDS Financial Trading and Technology Center (FTTC) will be conducting the final Excel Financial Modeling Class Series this semester on Thursday, April 17 and Thursday, April 24 from 3:30-5:30 PM in the FTTC classroom (GSB 3.120). The class is a 2-day series and is open to any undergraduates or MBAs in the McCombs School of Business. The class will be taught by Malcolm Wardlaw.
Please note that the prerequisites for attending the series have changed:
1. Undergraduate students must have completed FIN 357 or be in 357 this
semester
2. Students must take Excel training classes online or have attended the
Computer Training Team Excel Classes. We will be checking our
log-in records to see if you have taken the Excel training classes
online or attended the class. If you have not, YOU WILL NOT BE
ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE QUIZ.
3. YOU MUST PASS A 15-MINUTE TIMED EXCEL FILE QUIZ (without using a
mouse) administered at the FTTC before enrolling
4. Must be able to attend both days
Those interested in the class must contact Janice Rios (Janice.Rios@mccombs.utexas.edu)
after taking the Excel classes online to schedule an appointment to take
the quiz.
Enrollment will be limited to 20 students to keep an environment
conducive to interaction.
Students can take the Excel Training Classes online from the McCombs
Computer Training Team at their website:
http://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/tech/training/Courses/onlineclasses.asp
It is imperative for students to know Excel beyond an intermediate level
and be familiar using Excel shortcuts.
Students are more than welcome to use the computers in the FTTC (when
classes are not scheduled) to watch the online Excel Training classes,
earphones will be provided on request.
The FTTC has Excel shortcuts handouts for anyone who is interested.
If you are a non-business student and interested in the class, please
email
Janice.Rios@mccombs.utexas.edu.
There will be another Financial Modeling Series in April. Dates and
times will be determined at a later date.
