About Bonds on Bridge
Overview

The Bond Menu can be accessed through the Bridge Analytics Display. Using page one of this menu, you can obtain technical information on corporate and government bond issues, obtain information regarding spreads between different bond classes, obtain currency adjusted returns for international bond issues, obtain domestic and international yield curves and much more. Page two of the Bond Menu enables you to obtain news regarding the bond market, historical yield curve comparisons, comparisons of the yields of treasuries of different maturities and much more.

Calling up the Bond Menu

To call up the Bond Menu do the following:
1. Add the Analytics Display to the Bridge Workstation.
2. Type in the command "[bonds
3. Hit enter.

Finding Bonds
Finding a Specific Corporate Bond

To find a specific corporate bond to research do the following in the Analytics Display:
1. Find the ticker symbol for the company issuing the bond. For example, the ticker symbol for International Business Machines is "IBM", the symbol for AT&T is "T".
2. Type in the command "ticker symbol"/av For example, to see a list of all IBM bond issues, type in ibm/av
3. Find the desired bond in the resulting output list according to its coupon and maturity date. The Bridge Symbol used for researching this specific bond can be found in the far left column of this list.

Finding a Specific Government Bond

For the most pare, research for government bonds is limited to treasury bills in the Bridge Workstation Bond Menu. However, there are a limited number of symbols to be found for government bonds of 2,3,4,10 and 30 year maturities. (These can be found using the command "[trs") Treasury bills are bonds issued by the government that currently have less than one year before maturity. To find a specific government t-bill do the following:
1. Type in the command "tb/av"
2. Find the desired t-bill in the resulting output list according to its coupon and maturity date. The Bridge Symbol used for researching this specific bond can be found in the far left column of this list.

Yield Curves
Obtaining the Yield Curve

To obtain the yield curve associated with U.S. Treasury Bond issues, do the following:
1. Type in the command "[ycp".

This will provide you with the yield curve profile as of the end of the week for the previous three weeks.

Obtaining Yield Comparisons Between Different Maturities

To see a chart comparing the yields of U.S. Treasuries for all different maturities on a historical basis (12 months) do the following:
1. Type in the command "[tyc".

This will provide you with a chart showing how the yields for each maturity horizon (6 mo., 2,5,10 and 30 years) have changed over the last twelve months
