This course is designed to teach the basics of spreadsheet based financial
modeling. The course will focus on the basics of model building under Microsoft
Excel with a focus on understanding frameworks and techniques. The course will
cover the technical aspects of Excel on an intermediate level, the basic
frameworks of model building, and hands on coding of two to three types of
models.
These models may include discounted cash flow analysis, capital budgeting,
financing and flow-of-funds models, costing, portfolio analysis, and certain
marketing and customer analysis models.
Prerequisites for attending Excel Modeling:
Undergraduate students must have completed FIN 357 or be in 357 this semester.
Students must take Excel training classes online or have attended the Computer
Training Team Excel Classes.

• Scenario Analysis
• Sensitivity Analysis
Day 3:
• Applying Excel to Portfolio Problems
• VBA Discussion & Example (time permitting)
